Alex Mannix

Alex Mannix, NYU/Tisch

Alex Mannix is a New York-based lighting designer, graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her most recent work at NYU includes The Fortress of Solitude, The Invention of X: Blake Anemone, and Tartuffe.

She graduated from Princeton University in 2012 with a degree in Classics and a Certificate in Theater. She has spent the past several summers designing both plays and musicals for Princeton Summer Theater, including Assassins, God of Carnage and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. After graduating, Alex spent a year at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, as the Allen Lee Hughes Lighting Fellow. She has a long-standing relationship with Jane Cox, who served as Alex’s mentor in the inaugural year of the Helmsley Lighting Mentorship Program. In 2015, she worked with Jane again as her assistant on Hamlet at the Barbican Theatre in London.
